Douglas Park Soccer Club
THE SEASON

September - March with 3 weeks off in December.

GAME TIME & LOCATIONS

Boys Soccer is usually played on Saturday mornings. Girls up to U10 play on Saturday afternoons, then switch to Sundays.

Douglas Park has one full size field for Divisional play, as well as 2 mini-fields. The Soccer Club also uses all-weather fields at General Brock (Main and 33rd) and Edith Cavell (500 W 20th) Schools for House League play and Simon Fraser School (100 W 15th) for 8 a-side games. Divisional League home games may be played at Douglas Park/Gladstone School (Victoria and 27th) as alternate field and Hillcrest Park/Van Horne (5855 Ontario) as alternate field. Click on "Field Status" icon on side bar for information on Douglas Park fields during wet or cold weather.

Boys Divisional 4-District League (U12 - U18)
This involves teams from Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and the North Shore.

Boys (U11)
play in an 8 aside league interlocking with teams from Vancouver and Richmond.

House League (U10, U9, U8, U6/7)
Boys - Play locally against other Douglas Park and West Point Grey teams. Some travel is required to other fields in the West Side.

Girls Divisional 5-District League (U13 - U18)
This involves teams from Vancouver& Richmond, Central Fraser Valley, South District, North Shore District and North District.

Girls (U11, U12)
Play in an 8 aside league interlocking with teams from Vancouver and Richmond U12 Gold teams play in the 5 district league.

Girls House League (U10, U9, U8, U6/7)
Play locally against other Vancouver teams such as Point Grey, Kerrisdale, Marpole, Killarney, Dunbar and the Italian Canadian. Some travel may be required to these other areas in the City ranging from Trimble park in Point Grey, to Killarney's field at Kerr and Kent Streets down near the Fraser River off Marine Drive and the Italian Canadian "ICSF" field near 17th Avenue and Penticton.

PRACTICES

House League teams generally practice once per week. They practice outside until the middle of October, at which time they may move to an indoor gym. Divisional Teams use the lit fields at Eric Hamber and Oak Park during the winter months.

AGE CATEGORIES

The B.C. Soccer Association has adopted January 1 to December 31 birthdate categories. Different levels of play are referred to as U-19, U-17, etcetera, meaning Under-19, Under-17, etc. A maximum of 18 players may be registered for each divisional team (ie. U11 to U19), and a maximum of 12 players for each team playing mini (or House League) soccer (i.e. U7 to U10). The categories below are for the upcoming 2010/2011 season.
