Dear Parents of Grade 3 children
You may be interested in this research project in child development.
GECKO (Gene Expression Collaborative for Kids Only), is conducted by Dr. Tom Boyce, a pediatrician and
Principal Investigator at the Human Early Partnership at UBC, and has been designed to help researchers
understand how socio-environmental factors affect brain development and individual response to stress.
The goal is to publish the results to help inform and tailor existing education programs. If you have
any questions with regards to the study, please contact our Project Coordinator, Stephanie Lam at

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

DPSC is in need of volunteers to fill crucial positions.
- Outdoor Equipment Manager
1-3 people to manage the outdoor equipment locker and order new equipment when necessary.
- Referee Development Officer
Organizes referee courses through BC Soccer so that our pool of young referees is constantly replenished.
